CONSTRUCTION OF RETAINING WALL
A retaining wall is a structure designed and constructed to resist the lateral pressure of soil, when there is a desired change in ground elevation that exceeds the angle of repose of the soil. Construction of Concrete Retaining wall :-Following are steps in the Construction of the RCC retaining wall. Excavation :-First Excavation of the Wall base is done & it is well compacted via mechanical means and with a sprinkling of adequate water. PCC:- Plain Cement Concrete of Grade M-10 to M-15 is laid over compacted earth. This PCC acts as a base for the retaining wall. Reinforcement & Shuttering- Reinforcement is tied as per drawings and specifications and shuttering is paced for concreting as per the required shape of the wall.
